Blossom Earns Second Straight B1G Setter of the Week Award

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State's Gabby Blossom was named the Big Ten Women's Volleyball Setter of the Week on Monday, earning the award for the second consecutive week.

Blossom averaged 12.25 assists/set and 2.38 digs/set in wins over No. 17 Illinois and Maryland. The Nittany Lions jumped to seventh in the national rankings after improving to 16-3 overall and 9-1 in the Big Ten.

Penn State came back from two sets down to beat Illinois thanks in part to a career-high 58 assists from Blossom. She completed the double-double with 13 digs.

Blossom earned the Setter of the Week honor for the second time in her career.

Penn State has received four weekly awards from the Big Ten this season. In addition to Blossom's two accolades, Kaitlyn Hord won one Player of the Week award and Kendall White earned one Defensive Player of the Week honor.

The Lions are on the road for two matches this weekend. They will travel to take on Iowa on Friday at 8 p.m. (ET), before making the trip to Lincoln to play No. 8 Nebraska on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. (ET).
