Six Softball Players Named Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes

LOUISVILLE, Ky. –
Six Penn State softball student-athletes were named 2019 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes, as announced by the Association Wednesday afternoon.

Chelsea Bisi, Tori Dubois, Delaney Elling, Emily Hudgins, Claire Swedberg and Destiny Weber all earned the academic award from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Dubois, a recent Penn State alumnus, graduated with a degree in advertising and public relations in May. She also earned the honor in 2016 and 2018 and was a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree as well.

Elling and Weber also earned the award in 2018 while Bisi, Hudgins and Swedberg are first-time honorees.

To qualify for the honor, student-athletes must have earned a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for the 2018-19 school year.

Penn State continues fall ball play with a road 10-inning contest at Bucknell on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 1 p.m. before returning to Beard Field on Saturday, Oct. 12 for a doubleheader with West Chester University starting at 1 p.m.
