Bracket for 2019 B1G Field Hockey Tournament at Penn State is Finalized!

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- (Release courtesy Megan Rowley, Big Ten) -- The Big Ten announced the 2019 Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament bracket on Sunday, with Maryland earning the No. 1 seed after earning a share of the Big Ten Championship with Iowa. Maryland, which earned the top seed thanks to its victory against Iowa on Oct. 11, will have a bye to the semifinals. Host Penn State will take on Michigan in the tournament's first game on Thursday.
 
Iowa (7-1) claimed the No. 2 seed in the Big Ten Tournament and will face seventh-seeded Ohio State at 2 p.m. on Thursday in Game 2. The Hawkeyes and Buckeyes will be meeting for the second time this season, with Iowa earning a 2-1 victory on Sept. 27 in Iowa City.
 
After claiming the No. 3 seed, Northwestern will face sixth-seeded Rutgers in Game 3 at 5 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats recorded a 4-1 win over the Scarlet Knights on Oct. 13.
 
Michigan garnered the No. 4 seed in the Big Ten Tournament and will face fifth-seeded Penn State in the tournament's opening match Thursday at 11 a.m. ET. The Wolverines earned a 3-1 victory against the Nittany Lions on Oct. 20.
 
The semifinals and championship match are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 8, and Sunday, Nov. 10, at the Penn State Field Hockey Complex in University Park, Pa. The semifinals will be broadcast live on Friday on BTN or BTN+ at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., with the championship game airing live on BTN at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10.
