UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men's swimming & diving team trails No. 24 Virginia Tech, 107-59 and No.8 Ohio State, 74.50-91.50 after Day 1 of their double-dual meet at McCoy Natatorium.
Top Swims
Michael Daly led the team with two first-place finishes during day one of the double-dual meet. Daly secured the win in the 400 IM (3:55.57) and dominated in the 1000 freestyle with a first-place time of 9:19.01. Hayden Harlow also earned a top-three finish in the 400 IM, finishing with a time of 3:58.12. Sophomore William Lulek trailed Harlow in the same event, touching fourth (3:58.37).
Senior Captain Liam Veregin and junior William Roberson, both secured top-three finishes in their events. Roberson placed third in the 100 free (44.59) while Veregin earned points for the Nittany Lions with a third place touch in the 100 backstroke (49.65).
Sophomore Zac Zwijacz placed fourth in the 200 butterfly (1:49.75), while Daniel Raisanen did the same in the 200 breaststroke (2:02.88). Harlow followed after Raisanen in the 200 breast with a fifth place time of 2:03.55.
Nittany Lion Relays
Opening the men's portion of the meet, the team of Veregin, Harlow, Zwijacz and Roberson secured second place in the 400 medley relay in 3:16.66. To close out the meet, the 200 free relay team of Roberson, Matthew Dinunzio, Veregin, and Juliusz Gosieniecki tied for second with a final time of 1:21.20.
Top Dives
On the boards, junior Bryce Hoch led Penn State with a score of 281.50 in the 1-meter dive.

Next Up
The Penn State men and women will compete tomorrow at 10 a.m. in McCoy Natatorium to conclude the two-day meet. This meet will be their Military Appreciation meet where they will wear camouflage suits to honor past, present, and future service members.
