UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State head men's gymnastics coach Randy Jepson and senior Stephen Nedoroscik are currently in Cottbus, Germany, as Nedoroscik gets set to compete on pommel horse at the 2019 World Cup.
Nedoroscik is one of three U.S. men competing in Cottbus, joining Colin Van Wicklen (vault) and Donnell Whittenburg (rings). The event, which will be held at the Lausitz Arena, is part of the International Gymnastics Federation's individual apparatus World Cup Series. The gymnast with the highest point total of their best three World Cup meets on each event will earn a berth to the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
Qualifications for pommel horse will take place on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. (ET). The top eight gymnasts make the finals.
Nedoroscik took silver on pommel horse at the U.S. Championships this past August. He is a two-time NCAA champion in the event and added a runner-up finish last season.
