UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The 2020 Penn State baseball schedule unveiled Tuesday by head coach Rob Cooper features 19 games in Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, 14 games against 2018 NCAA Tournament teams and the continuation of several Big Ten and regional matchups.
The Nittany Lions open the season Friday, Feb. 14 at the USA Baseball National Training Center in Cary, North Carolina, and will spend their first three weekends of the year there, playing 11 games before hitting the road for Spring Break and opening the home slate Wednesday, March 18 against Binghamton.
Ticket, promotional and broadcast information will be announced at a future date, as will details for the annual First Pitch Dinner, which will take place Saturday, Jan. 25.

SCHEDULE HIGHLIGHTS
- The 56-game schedule includes six opponents that participated in the 2019 NCAA Baseball tournament, including College World Series finalist Michigan. The Wolverines will visit Medlar Field at Lubrano Park Apr. 17-19, as will NCAA Regional teams Indiana (Apr. 3-5), West Virginia (Apr. 28) and Illinois (May 1-3). Penn State will also play at Nebraska (May 8-10) and Creighton (May 12).
- Power Five non-conference matchups include a home-and-home series against Pittsburgh (Mar. 24 [H] & Apr. 7 [A]), a visit from West Virginia (Apr. 28) and a three-game series at Arizona (May 14-16)
- Penn State plays eight Big Ten series, opening its conference slate at Northwestern (Mar. 20-22) and its home conference slate the following weekend against Iowa (Mar. 27-29). Indiana, Michigan and Illinois round out the home portion, while trips to Michigan State (Apr. 10-12) and Maryland (Apr. 24-26) fill-in the road portion in between the Northwestern and Nebraska series.
- The Illinois series (May 1-3) will mark the regular season home finale. The Nittany Lions will then head west to conclude the regular season, playing at Nebraska (May 8-10), Creighton (May 12) and Arizona (May 14-16).
- Penn State will be vying for a berth in the Big Ten Tournament, while will take place May 20-24 in TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha.
Penn State returns 18 letterwinners, five starting position players and two starting pitchers from last season's team and will be bolstered by 12 newcomers.
