ALL-TIME VERSUS WINDJAMMER OPPONENTS
VERMONT: Penn State and Vermont have played each other four times, all at Vermont, and the Nittany Lions hold a 2-1- 1 series advantage. This is the first time the two programs have played each other since Oct. 5, 2013, when the Nittany Lions notched a 4-2 win over the Catamonts.
CLARKSON: The Nittany Lions have faced the Golden Knights four times with Clarkson emerging as the winner each time. The first series between these teams came at Clarkson Sept. 30-Oct. 1 2016. The Nittany Lions then hosted the Golden Knights in their most recent matchup Oct. 13-14, 2017 at Pegula Ice Arena.
MINNESOTA STATE MANKATO: Should the Nittany Lions and Mavericks match up on Saturday, it would be the first time the two programs have played each other. In terms of similar opponents so far in 2019, both teams have defeated RPI twice and lost two times to Wisconsin.
HISTORY IN FOUR-TEAM TOURNAMENTS
The Nittany Lions have played in one similar four-team, regular-season tournament in program history at the Nutmeg Classic Nov. 24-25, 2017 at UConn. The Nittany Lions picked up two ties in the tournament, with a 1-1 tie and a loss in the shootout against UConn, followed by a 2-2 draw against Yale the next day.
