Lions Cruise Past Indiana, Look to Wrap-Up Season

The Penn State women's rugby team (5-4, 4-0 B1G) remained unblemished against conference opponents after defeating Indiana 63-29 on Saturday.

The Nittany Lions were in control from the very beginning, scoring a try in the first minute of the match. The onslaught was on, and the first half was all Penn State, taking a 43-0 lead into the half.

Beginning with seven substitutions, the second half provided an opportunity for a lot of developing players experience in their premier first-XV match. The gritty Indiana side was able to pick up some momentum against the young rotation in the second half, but it would prove meaningless on the final scoreline.

This Saturday, Kate Daley's squad looks to wrap up their 2019 campaign with two games at home. They will face their final conference opponent in Michigan, a game rescheduled from September; as well as NIRA opponent Notre Dame College (OH).

The Wolverines come in with a 1-5 record from their entirely-B1G schedule, with their lone win coming over rival Ohio State. Their losses come from Michigan State, Notre Dame, Indiana, and Davenport.

Notre Dame College (0-5, 0-3 NIRA) is looking to post a win in their final game of their season. The last meeting between the two teams came back in April 2017, when Penn State handled the Falcons 62-8.

Kickoffs for NDC and Michigan are slated for 1PM and 3PM, respectively. They games will be played at the Park Ave IM Fields due to overlapping game times with the men's game.
