UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – With the fall semester nearing its end, head coach Denise St. Pierre and the Penn State women's golf team announced their 2020 spring schedule earlier this week. The schedule features four tournaments and a pair of match-play events followed by the Big Ten Championship and the NCAA Regionals.
All four tournaments for the Nittany Lions are familiar to the team with a return trip to three from last spring. Penn State begins its spring semester with a training trip to Orlando, Florida on January 18-20 before returning to the Sunshine State the following weekend for a pair of matches against Minnesota in Naples. The first match-play event will take place on Saturday, January 25 at Quail Creek Country Club and both teams will run it back the following day at Bay Colony Golf Club.
The Nittany Lions then begin normal tournament play with a third trip to Florida for the UCF Challenge on February 2-4 before a 25-day layoff between their next event. Penn State will next tee it up at the Hurricane Invitational on March 1-3 and have a quick turnaround before competing in the Lady Gator Invitational on March 7-8.
The following week the Nittany Lions will travel to Charleston, S.C. for the Briar's Creek Invitational from March 16-17. Penn State concludes its spring slate a few weeks later with a single match against Rutgers on Sunday, April 5 at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa.
The Nittany Lions then have a few weeks off to prepare for the Big Ten Championships at TPC River's Bend on April 24-26. The NCAA Regionals will be held May 11-13 at regional sites while the NCAA Championships will be played from May 22-27 at Greyhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
