Saturday Games Highlight Nittany Lions’ Big Ten Home Schedule

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Nine Big Ten Conference games in the Bryce Jordan Center and a "home" date at The Palestra in Philadelphia comprise the Penn State men's basketball home schedule for 2019-20. The Big Ten Conference released the full 20-game slate of league games, which includes four Saturday home games at the BJC.

"The entire schedule has been released and we look forward to building off the momentum from the end of last season," said Penn State men's basketball coach Patrick Chambers. "Our schedule presents tremendous opportunities to grow and improve."

Game times and broadcast designations will be announced at a later date.

Two early conference games in December begin with Penn State on the road at Ohio State on Saturday, Dec. 7 in the Big Ten opener. The Nittany Lions begin a four-game homestand against Big Ten foe Maryland on Tuesday, Dec. 10, followed by three nonconference opponents to end the 2019 portion of the schedule. With the dates now set for the December Big Ten games, the return game for Penn State and Alabama will be Saturday, Dec. 14 in the BJC.

The Palestra will serve as the backdrop for the Nittany Lions' first game of 2020 as Penn State plays host to Iowa in a Big Ten matchup on Saturday, Jan. 4. Details on how fans can purchase tickets for the Nittany Lions' "home" game in Philadelphia will be announced at a later date. Penn State fans who are 2019-20 men's basketball season ticket holders have first priority to secure tickets for the game at The Palestra.

After the Penn State-Iowa game in Philadelphia, a home-and-away pattern of games continues through the month of January, starting with Penn State at Rutgers on Tuesday, Jan. 7. The Nittany Lions welcome Wisconsin on Jan. 11 for the first of four Saturday games in the BJC in 2019-20. 

Penn State makes a mid-week trip to Minnesota on Wednesday, Jan. 15 and returns home for a Saturday, Jan. 18 matchup with Ohio State. The Nittany Lions go back on the road for a Wednesday, Jan. 22 game at Michigan and close out the month with a Wednesday, Jan. 29 home game vs. Indiana.

The Nittany Lions play back-to-back games on the road to open February, first at Nebraska on Saturday, Feb. 1, and then at Michigan State on Tuesday, Feb. 4.
 
Minnesota visits the BJC on Saturday, Feb. 8 and then the Nittany Lions visit Purdue on Tuesday, Feb. 11. Penn State plays a second-straight home weekend game on Saturday, Feb. 15 when the Nittany Lions host Northwestern for the first time in 2019-20.  The lone meeting of the year between Illinois and Penn State takes place in the BJC on Tuesday, Feb. 18. 

The Nittany Lions crisscross Big Ten country, venturing to Indiana for a Sunday, Feb. 23 game and returning to Happy Valley for a Wednesday, Feb. 26 home game vs. Rutgers. The final flight of February sends Penn State to Iowa on Saturday, Feb. 29.

Penn State's final home game brings Michigan State to the BJC for a Tuesday, March 3 matchup. The Big Ten regular-season finale puts Penn State at Northwestern Saturday, March 7, before the Big Ten Conference Tournament in Indianapolis, Ind., March 11-15.

Season tickets for the 2019-20 season are on sale now. The package includes 17 games, nine Big Ten games and eight nonconference contests, at the Bryce Jordan Center. Student season tickets are $35, plus handling fees, for the 17-game home schedule and may be purchased until 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday, Nov. 4. Student season tickets can be purchased at gopsusports.com/mbbstudents.
