Bramley Named to U.S. National Team, Conley and Rizzo to National Development Team

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Three former Penn State Nittany Lion field hockey standouts have been named to U.S. National squads by the United States Women's National Team coaching staff.
 
Gini Bramley (Elizabethtown, Pa.) has been named to the 2020 U.S. Women's National Team while former teammates Cori Conley (Oak Park, Ill.) and Jenny Rizzo (Hershey, Pa.) have been named to the 2020 U.S. Women's National Development Team.
 
Bramley left Penn State with 78 career points off 30 goals and 18 assists, eight game winning goals and 78 starts in 79 games played over four seasons. Bramley was a 2018 All-American (third team), a two-time first-team All-Mideast Region selection and a first-team All-Big Ten pick.
 
The U.S. Women's National Team begin its calendar at the second edition of the FIH Hockey Pro League. The United States squad kicks off competition on Friday, Jan. 24, against No. 1 The Netherlands at Karen Shelton Stadium in Chapel Hill, N.C.
 
Conley was the heart of the Penn State defense during her time as a Nittany Lion.  She played in 82 games at Penn State, starting 77.  Conley was a first-team All-Big Ten selection as a senior and was a second team NFHCA All-American as a senior.
 
Rizzo was a four-year starter in goal as a Nittany Lion.  She played in 79 games during her career and ended her stint as a Nittany Lion with a 1.52 goals against average, 352 saves and a .749 save percentage.  Rizzo was a second team All-Big Ten selection as a senior and earned first team NFHCA All-Region laurels that year.
 
The U.S. National Development Team is currently scheduled for two training camps in the coming months. The first will be held February 28 to March 2 in Berkeley, Calif., and second is set from March 27 to 29 in Chapel Hill and Durham, N.C. The team will then tour Scotland in their first international competition of the year from April 16 to 22.
