UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State softball team will once again host Community Day, an open practice for fans to come watch, on Sunday, Jan. 26 from 10 a.m. to noon at Holuba Hall.
"We're always excited to host the Nittany Lion faithful at practice as they get an early look at our 2020 squad," said head coach Amanda Lehotak. "It's a great chance for the team to meet the community before the season starts to see how much support they have heading into the season."
The open practice starts with a scrimmage at 10 a.m. Practice will conclude at approximately 11:30 a.m. with the remaining time open for autographs and photo opportunities with the team.
Free home schedule posters will be given away along with donuts provided by the Penn State Softball Booster Club. There will be a photo booth set up as well as a caricature artist and face painting station for fans to take advantage of.
IMG Learfield Ticket Solutions will be on site selling season tickets.
The Booster Club will also have a table set up with various apparel items for sale.
The free event is open to all members of the public. Fans are encouraged to bring their own chairs to sit in to watch practice.
The Nittany Lions open their 2020 slate on Friday, Feb. 7 in Miami, Fla. at the Felsberg Invitational hosted by Florida International University.
