No. 2 Men's Lacrosse Opens 2020 Season Saturday at Panzer Stadium

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The 2020 Penn State men's lacrosse season opens Saturday at noon with a non-conference game against Lafayette at Panzer Stadium. The Lions, the defending champions in the Big Ten, enter the season ranked second in the nation in the USILA Coaches Poll.

POSTER GIVEAWAY
All fans in attendance at Saturday's game will receive a 2020 schedule poster.

TICKETS
Ticket prices have been set at $8 for adults and $5 for youth (ages 12 and under). Penn State students will be able to get in for free by showing their Penn State ID. Tickets will be available only on game day at the Panzer Stadium ticket windows. Both the gates and the ticket office will open 60 minutes before the game.

PARKING
Parking for games played at Panzer Stadium will be available in the Jordan East lot, and while fans can bring bags into the facility, all bags are subject to search. Tailgating should be kept to the areas south of Dauer Drive in the grassy areas, keeping the aisles free for traffic to flow normally.

THE MATCHUP
Penn State is unbeaten at 25-0 in the series history with Lafayette, but the teams haven't played each other since 1996. The Lions are 14-0 against the Leopards in games played in State College. They are 138-120-1 all-time against teams currently in the Patriot League.

SEASON OPENERS
•Penn State is 54-51 all-time in its season opener and is 7-2 in season openers under head coach Jeff Tambroni.

UNBEATEN AT PANZER STADIUM
Penn State opened Panzer Stadium with a 15-14 win over Penn on March 2, 2019. The Lions went on to win all five games they played at the facility last season.
 
SEVEN RETURNING ALL-AMERICANS
The Lions have seven players that have combined to earn 11 USILA All-America honors, including honorable mentions. Mac O'Keefe is a three-time All-American, Grant Ament and Gerard Arceri have each won two All-America awards, and Jack Kelly, Tommy Wright, Nick Cardile and Colby Kneese all received their first honor last season when the team had a program record nine All-Americans.

CAPTAINS
Four players – Grant Ament, Nick Cardile, Mac O'Keefe and Tommy Wright – will serve as team captains for the 2020 season.

ACTIVE GOAL STREAK
Mac O'Keefe has the fifth-longest goal-scoring streak among active Division I players with a goal in 25-consecutive games. His goal total (97) during that stretch is 20 more than any other player on the list. The last game O'Keefe didn't score a goal was in a 9-7 loss to Cornell on March 10, 2018.
 
ACTIVE POINT STREAK
Grant Ament ranks third and Mac O'Keefe ranks 16th among active Division I players in consecutive games with a point. Ament has a point in 48-straight games, totaling 240 on 80 goals and 160 assists during that stretch. O'Keefe has a point in 28-consecutive games, tallying 131 on 103 goals and 128 assists during that time.

UP NEXT
Penn State goes on the road to play a non-conference game against Villanova on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 1 p.m. The teams will play for a 13th-consecutive season. The Lions won 17-7 at home last year.
