#10 Men's Volleyball To Start Conference Play At Rec Hall

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The No. 10 Penn State men's volleyball returns home to Rec Hall to begin its EIVA conference schedule with showdowns against No. 11 Princeton and NJIT this weekend, Feb. 14-15.
 
The Nittany Lions will face Princeton in the main gym Friday evening at 7 p.m. before hosting the Highlanders Saturday night in the south gym, also at 7 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY VS. THE TIGERS AND HIGHLANDERS
Penn State is 59-8 all-time against Princeton, but the Tigers have gotten the best of the Nittany Lions in the last five matchups, including last season's EIVA Championship match.
 
The Tigers outlasted Penn State in that most recent title match in five sets back on April 20, 2019.
 
The Nittany Lions hold a 44-1 all-time edge over NJIT, including 29 consecutive victories over the Highlanders. Penn State won both of its matches vs. NJIT in four sets in 2019.
 
NITTANY LION NOTES

  • Penn State moved from 9th to 10th in the most recent AVCA Coaches Poll after its two-loss weekend in Columbus.
  • The Nittany Lions had three different student-athletes record double-doubles in the same match last Friday against Long Beach State. Calvin Mende had 10 kills and a career-high 13 digs for his first double-double. Henrik Falck Lauten had 10 kills and 11 digs for his second career double-double, and Cole Bogner had his second double-double of the season with 41 assists and 10 digs.
  • Penn State starts a stretch of seven-straight EIVA league matches this weekend. The Nittany Lions have won at least 10 EIVA regular season contests each year for the last 20 seasons.

Penn State takes its annual New England trip to face EIVA opponents Sacred Heart and Havard next weekend to continue a stretch of seven-consecutive conference matches.
