GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Penn State men's golf team is in fourth place after two rounds of the Gators Invitational Saturday on the Mark Bostick Golf Course on the University of Florida campus.
Sunday's final round has the Nittany Lions starting on hole No. 1 beginning at 8:45 a.m. ET.
The Nittany Lions remained in fourth place after two rounds with an 11-over 571 for the day. Penn State recorded a 4-over 284 in the afternoon round after finishing the morning session n fourth with a 7-over 287.
Senior Ryan Davis (Berkeley Heights, N.J.) carded a 2-under 68 in the afternoon session after a 1-over 71 first round to position himself in sixth overall. Davis collected nine birdies over the two rounds, five coming on his first 12 holes of the afternoon round.
Senior Alec Bard (New Hartford, N.Y.) is tied for 26th after he posted 2-over 72 scores in both rounds Saturday and stands in a tie for 26th at 144. Playing even in the morning session, junior Lou Olsakovsky is also in a tie for 26th at 144 (70+74).
With six birdies on the day, junior James McHugh (Rye, N.Y.) trimmed his score by two strokes in round 2 with a 2-over 72 (74-72=146) for a tie for 39th. Junior Lukas Clark jumped up to a tie for 50th after a 2-over 72 in the second round for a 148 total (76+72)
Host institution Florida leads the event at 5-under (283+272=555) after posting an 8-under 272 in the afternoon round.
