Nedoroscik to Compete in Baku World Cup on Thursday

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men's gymnastics standout Stephen Nedoroscik will compete in the Baku World Cup in Azerbaijan on Thursday at 4 a.m. (ET). It is his second World Cup event in less than a month.

Nedoroscik, a member of the U.S. National Team, already has one World Cup pommel horse victory. He brought home gold from Melbourne on Feb. 22, scoring 15.4 in the finals. That earned him 30 points in the World Cup Series.

The finals of the Baku event will be held on Saturday.

Nedoroscik has been busy in his final season at Penn State, excelling at the collegiate level in addition to his international success. He ranks first in the nation with a NQA of 15.217. He has a high score of 15.9, while no other collegiate gymnast has eclipsed 15.0 this season.

Nedoroscik, along with teammate Sam Zakutney, is a finalist for the Nissen-Emery Award, which is awarded in recognition of outstanding athletic achievement, academic excellence and sportsmanship. It is the top honor in college gymnastics.
