2020 Women's Lacrosse Senior Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State Women's Lacrosse team will be honoring it's seniors during Senior Week, from April 30-May 11, giving each senior their own day of recognition. Follow along on GoPSUSports.com and on the team's Twitter account, @pennstatewlax.



#24 Madison Carter
Attacker, Davidsonville, Md./South River
 
A team captain in 2020, Carter ranks fifth all-time at Penn State with 197 goals and seventh with 218 career points. In 2019, Carter became the fifth Nittany Lion to reach 200 career points. She also has 334 career draw controls, 56 groundballs and 26 caused turnovers in 68 career starts. Carter scored 70 goals as a sophomore, a Penn State record, and 62 goals as a junior. She has 48 career multi-point games, including 20 games with five or more points. As a sophomore, Carter led the Big Ten and ranked 10th in the nation averaging 3.33 goals per game. The Maryland native helped Penn State to three NCAA Tournament appearances, including two National Semifinals. Carter is a two-time IWLCA All-America second team selection, earning the honor in 2017 and 2018. She garnered two first-team IWLCA All-Region selections and one second-team IWLCA All-Region selection. Carter earned three All-Big Ten selections and was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2016. Carter is a four-time member of the Tewaaraton Award Watch List and was selected Preseason All-America by Inside Lacrosse in 2019 and 2020. A three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, Carter earned her bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation and Human Services in May 2019. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
 
Doherty on Carter: "Madison was one of our premier players for five years.  She was a pivotal attacker for us in two National Semifinals and made an immediate impact in our program.  What I will remember most about Madison is her character through adversity and her relentless desire to be great.  We can't thank her enough for all the hard work she put into being one of the best players ever to wear the blue and white."



#26 Maria Auth
Attacker, Street, Md./North Harford
 
Auth is returning as a Nittany Lion for the 2021 season. In four years in Happy Valley, Auth has tallied 126 goals, 54 assists, 41 groundballs, 19 draw controls and 12 caused turnovers in 43 starts. She has 43 career multi-point games, including 12 performances with five or more points. In 2020, Auth collected 22 goals and 11 points, leading the Nittany Lions in both categories. Her top performances including seven-point games against Lehigh and Duquesne and a six-point game against Cornell. Auth led the Big Ten and ranked fifth in the country averaging 1.57 free position goals per game, while placing fifth in the Big Ten in goals and third in goals per game (3.14). The Maryland native earned an All-Big Ten selection in 2019. She has won two Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week awards. A two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, Auth is majoring in biobehavioral health.
 
Doherty on Auth: "We are so excited to have one of our most lethal scoring weapons return to Penn State.  Maria has developed into one of the most potent attackers in the Big Ten and we can't wait for her to be one of our senior leaders next year."

Auth is the recipient of the Jim and Peg Stine Endowed Women's Lacrosse Scholarship.



#2 Katie Schluederberg
Attacker, Elkridge, Md./Howard
 
Schluederberg has appeared in 29 games, including 11 starts, as a Nittany Lion. She has recorded 26 points, including seven goals and 19 assists, nine groundballs and one caused turnover. Schluederberg has six career multi-point games, including three this season. In 2020, Schluederberg registered three goals, five assists and two groundballs. She tallied three points, including two assists, against Lehigh and had two goals against Loyola. A two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, Schluederberg is a biobehavioral health major.
 
Doherty on Schluederberg: "The qualities that Schluedy brought to our program are truly immeasurable.  Her kind, genuine and joyous nature was such an important part of the spirit of our team.  We will miss not only her great play at the attacking end, but also the fantastic qualities she brought to the team.  No one could make the team laugh like Schluedy and we will truly miss her energy."



#4 Kristin Roberto
Midfielder, Miller Place, N.Y./Miller Place
 
In four years as a Nittany Lion, Roberto has made 65 appearances, including 29 starts. In her career, Roberto has recorded 49 goals, five assists, 57 groundballs 73 draw controls and 32 caused turnovers. She has 14 career multi-point games, including a career-best three goals against Towson in the 2020 season opener. As a senior, Roberto tallied nine goals, 10 groundballs, 16 draw controls and six caused turnovers in seven starts. As an elementary and early childhood education major, Roberto is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
 
Doherty on Roberto: "Berty was truly two different people: an incredibly feisty, aggressive, relentless competitor on the field and the sweetest person you could meet off the field. She was a pivotal midfielder for us for four years and we are going to miss her work ethic and competitiveness. I've never seen her say a mean word to anyone, and her character and competitiveness will definitely be missed."
 
Roberto is the recipient of the Howard and Lillian Koch Scholarship and Fullington Family Intercollegiate Athletics Trustee Scholarship.



#7 Brittany Dolan
Defender, Ashburn, Va./Bishop Ireton
 
Dolan has appeared in 28 games, including 22 career starts. In her Penn State career, Dolan has collected 18 groundballs, four draw controls and 13 caused turnovers. As a senior, Dolan recorded six groundballs and four caused turnovers in six starts. She picked up a career-best four groundballs in the Nittany Lions' 14-13 win over Vanderbilt. She caused a turnover in four different games this season.  A recreation, parks and tourism management major, Dolan earned an Academic All-Big Ten selection in 2019.
 
Doherty on Dolan: "In her time at Penn State, Britt just kept getting better and better until she became an impact leader for us at the defensive end.  She was a fearless player who made our defense tougher and we are going to miss her ability to make a huge momentum play.  Britt is not only a driven athlete, but a driven person and I know she is going to make a huge impact in her professional career."
 
Dolan is the recipient of the Anonymous Endowed Athletic Scholarship.



#17 Hayley DeAgostine
Defender, West Chester, Pa./Henderson
 
DeAgostine made 48 starts and appeared in 65 games in her Penn State career.  As a Nittany Lion, DeAgostine recorded 58 groundballs, eight draw controls and 27 caused turnovers. She notched six groundballs, a draw control and four caused turnovers in seven starts as a senior while serving as a team captain. She gathered a season-high three groundballs against James Madison and caused a turnover in four games. A communication, arts and sciences major, DeAgostine is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
 
Doherty on DeAgostine: "Hayley could definitely be described as our Unsung Hero the last four years.  She was always in the right place at the right time on the defensive end and developed into a truly impactful captain and leader.  Hayley played with a fire that burned deep and she played her best when the competition was the fiercest.  We will miss her consistent effort and her desire to win and we thank her for making our program better."
 
DeAgostine is the recipient of the Theresa Burian Women's Lacrosse Scholarship and Radecic Family Endowed Athletics Trustee Scholarship.



#21 Madison Cunningham
Goalkeeper, Davie, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas
 
Cunningham made 20 appearances in goal for the Nittany Lions, including five career starts.  In her Penn State career, Cunningham made 67 saves while earning a 3-1 record and a 12.76 goals-against average.  She also picked up 14 groundballs and caused two turnovers. In 2020, Cunningham stopped five shots, with a .714 save percentage, against Duquesne. She has two career games with double-digit saves, including a career-high 14 saves in a win against Lehigh in 2018 and 10 stops vs. Loyola in 2018.  An integrative arts major, Cunningham is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
 
Doherty on Cunningham: "Madison is the player that every coach wants to have on their team.  She helped our program on so many levels from making saves in the cage to many behind-the-scenes projects.  We will never be able to thank her enough for her willingness to do whatever was needed to make our program better, both on and off the field.  We love her creative, adventurous spirit and we can't wait to go on one of her West Coast Adventures!"
 
Cunningham is the recipient of the Stine Family Endowed Women's Lacrosse Scholarship.



#27 Shannon Moore
Midfielder, West Chester, Pa./West Chester East
 
Moore appeared in 43 games as a Nittany Lion, including five starts. In her time in Happy Valley, Moore totaled nine goals, six assists, four groundballs, 16 draw controls and one caused turnover.  As a senior, Moore tallied three goals and three draw controls, making two starts.  Moore established herself as a strong presence in the draw circle, helping Penn State to win 88 draw controls in 2020.  Moore had three career multi-point games, including collecting a career-high three points, including two goals, in a win at Duquesne in 2019. A rehabilitation and human services major, Moore is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
 
Doherty on Moore: "Shannon was one of our most hardworking and dedicated players the past four years.  Shannon sets the standard for how an athlete should act, prepare, work and play as a competitor.  We are going to miss her lethal shot and her leadership on the draw, but most importantly we are going to miss her unwavering love and dedication to Penn State Lacrosse."



#6 Yasmain Hamood
Midfielder, Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central
 
Hamood made 18 appearances in a Penn State uniform. As a Nittany Lion, Hamood tallied 11 goals, three assists, six groundballs and four caused turnovers.  In 2020, Hamood collected seven goals, two assists, two groundballs and a caused turnover in six games.  The Illinois native set career highs with four points and three goals against Cornell on February 23.  She also had three points, including two goals, vs. Duquesne on February 19.  Hamood has earned two Academic All-Big Ten selections as an advertising/public relations major.
 
Doherty on Hamood: "For the past four years, Yas has been our program's energy animal.  She is the person that would get the positive vibes flowing in the locker room, at practice and on gameday.  She combined this energy with a relentless pursuit to learn and excel at the game of lacrosse.  I will miss hearing her "Let's GOOOOO MISSY" ring through Panzer every day! Thank you, Yas, for bringing such an amazing spirit and work ethic to Penn State Lacrosse."
