Wright was an honorable-mention All-American as a redshirt junior in 2019, helping Penn State win its first Big Ten regular season and tournament titles before making its first appearance in the NCAA Semifinal Round. He played in all 18 games, finishing with 44 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers, recording at least one ground ball in every game.
Wright was having another solid season this year as a senior before the campaign was cut short. Penn State was leading the Big Ten in ground balls per game, and Wright ranked second on the Lions with 21 in seven games. That was the most on the team by a non-faceoff player. He added five caused turnovers and helped the Lions' defense rank second in goals against average (10.59).
For his career, Wright finished with 95 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers in 47 games played. He added one goal and four assists.
Wright joins three former Penn State players – Nick Spillane, Austin Kaut and Nick Aponte – on the Lizards active roster.
