Penn State Football Video Team Wins 2019-20 Highlight and Recruiting SAVVY Awards

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State Football Assistant Video Director for Productions Blake Newsock and his video staff were honored by the Collegiate Sports Video Association (CSVA), as Penn State Football's "Pre Memphis Highlight" video earned the 2019-20 Highlight Video of the Year, while the video "The Process VII" was named Recruiting Video of the Year.

Annually, the Collegiate Sports Video Association presents awards in various categories including Motivational, Recruiting and Highlight. Each category has specific criteria that members of CSVA must follow, while pushing the envelope on new creative ideas. There was a total of 56 videos submitted from schools and conferences across the country.

Penn State's video was named one of three finalists in the Highlight and Recruiting category earlier in May, then was voted as the winner by members of CSVA during a virtual conference.

Newsock was assisted by Joe Loosemore, Matt Stephens, John Scarpelli, Katie Ache, Jackie Kurtz, Clint Yoder, Michael Hazel and Michael Loftus.

The winning videos from each of the categories are then up for the Ultimate SAVVY, which is awarded to the best overall video of that year.

This was Penn State's fifth overall SAVVY honor. Newsock and his crew won last year's Ultimate SAVVY award for their Recruiting video "The Process VI".
