Men's Swimming and Diving Compete in Their Blue & White Meet

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men's swimming & diving team had its first competition of the season Saturday morning at McCoy Natatorium. Competing in a modified version of the "Blue & White" meet, the men were split into two to form both a blue and a white team. The meet was unscored. 


Top Swims

Standout freshman Henry Radzikowski had his first two wins as Nittany Lion after finishing first in the 1000 free (9:46.68) and 500 free (4:39.39) to add points for the blue. 

Michael Daly ended the meet with a pair of victories in the 200 free (1:40.01) and the 200 back (1:44.83). He also came in second in the 500 free (4:44.18) to score for the white. 

Senior William Roberson had an impressive time with a 20.08 in the 50 free to win the race. He also secured first in the 100 free (44.82) to add to the blue teams total. 

Senior Hayden Harlow came away with a set of wins placing first in both the 100 breast (57.05) and 200 IM (1:51.09) to rack up  points for the blue team. Harlow also finished second in the 200 breast (2:05.12). 

Junior Zac Zwijacz scored for the blue team after winning both the 100 fly (49.11) and 200 fly (1:50.97) and placing third in the 200 IM (1:55.63). 

For the white team, William Lulek scored in the 200 breast, swimming 2:05.11, good for first place. He added two second place finishes in both the 200 fly (1:55.89) and 200 IM (1:53.14). 

Freshman Jacob Oberle secured his first collegiate win for his time of 51.71 in the 100 back. He was followed by fellow freshman Thomas Hurley who swam 53.33 to receive second. 


Nittany Lion Relays

The white team swept the relays winning both the 200 medley and 200 free relays. 

To start the meet, the 200 medley relay team of Daly, Brad Johnson, Dale Johnson, and Jake Houck won the event with a time of 1:30.31.  

The team composed of Juliusz Gosieniecki, Branko Kosanovich, B. Johnson, and Devon Chenot secured first in the 200 free relay with their time of 1:23.63.

Both the men's and women's swimming & diving teams will compete in another inter-squad meet Monday, November 23rd - Wednesday, November 25th.
