UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Big Ten released the schedule for the 2020-21 women's volleyball season on Tuesday evening. The slate includes 22 matches against Big Ten opponents with the 11 opponents being determined based on last season's standings.

Start times and broadcast designations for matches will be released at a later date.

Penn State opens the season on the road with a pair of contests at Michigan on Friday, Jan. 22, and Saturday, Jan. 23. The Nittany Lions will then host Ohio State for their home opener just a few days later on Tuesday, Jan. 26, before heading to Columbus for the second match with the Buckeyes on Sunday, Jan. 31.

The February portion of the schedule opens with home matches against Illinois on Feb. 5-6, and then the Lions hit the road again to play at Minnesota on Feb. 13-14. The following two series are against a pair of programs with head coaches that were formerly members of the Penn State coaching staff. The Lions welcome Indiana, led by Steve Aird, on Feb. 19-20, and then head to College Park to take on Maryland, led by Adam Hughes, on Feb. 27-28.

Penn State is at Rec Hall for its first four matches in March, taking on Purdue on March 5-6, and Rutgers on March 12-13. The Lions head to the state of Michigan for the second time of the season when they travel to play Michigan State on March 19-20. The final home matches of the regular season will be against defending Big Ten champion Wisconsin on March 26-27.

A huge matchup awaits Penn State for its final contests of the regular season as the Lions travel to play Nebraska on April 1-2.

The NCAA Tournament bracket, which will consist of 48 teams, will be announced on April 4. Dates and locations of the earlier rounds are TBA, while the final site is scheduled for April 23-25 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Under current Big Ten guidance, public tickets will not be sold for 2020-21 Penn State women's volleyball home matches.
