UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men's soccer team is preparing to take the pitch again this spring as head coach Jeff Cook announced its 2020 spring slate, which includes nine total games and six on the University Park campus.
"We are excited for the opportunities that our 2020 spring schedule will provide for our players," said head coach Jeff Cook. "This is an incredibly important time for our program to focus intensively on player and team development. I've been very impressed with the effort and mentality of our players so far in 2020 and look forward to seeing how we perform during these games against high quality opposition."
The non-traditional season opened on Feb. 15 as the Nittany Lions scrimmaged the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL.
Penn State plays its first home games of the spring on March 8 in Holuba Hall against Seton Hill (PA) at noon and Akron at 4 p.m. Fanshawe College of Ontario, Canada visits Happy Valley on Saturday, March 28 for a 1 p.m. match.
The Nittany Lions then have back-to-back weekends of doubleheader-format games, first at Temple and LaSalle on Saturday, April 4 at noon and 4:30 p.m., respectively. On Saturday, April 11 Penn State will face Lock Haven at 11 a.m. and Pittsburgh at 3 p.m. at home.
Penn State will wrap up the spring slate on Thursday, April 16 against Saint Francis at 8 p.m.
Home games the last half of the season will either be played at Holuba Hall or Jeffrey Field, depending on the weather.
