UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – With spring semester set to begin next week, head coach Denise St. Pierre and the Penn State women's golf team announced their 2021 spring schedule earlier this week. The schedule features four tournaments followed by the Big Ten Championship and the NCAA Regionals.
"We are very excited to get the season started," mentioned head coach Denise St. Pierre. "It's going to be challenging on a lot of fronts, but the team is excited about the opportunity to compete as a team again."
Three of the four tournaments are familiar for the Nittany Lions as they once again begin the season at the UCF Challenge for the fourth consecutive year on January 31 – February 2.
The Nittany Lions then have a 19-day break before returning to the Sunshine State to compete in the Gator Invitational, an event where Penn State finished fourth last season, on February 21-23. The 2020 Gator Invitational featured a hole-in-one by then-freshman Mathilde Delavallade (Royan, France) during the second round of competition and was the final event Penn State competed in as the COVID-19 pandemic put an end to the season just one week later.
Penn State will have another 20-day layoff before traveling to South Carolina for the Briar's Creek Invitational on March 15-16. This marks the 10th-straight season the Nittany Lions have competed in the Briar's Creek Invitational.
PSU will conclude its regular season on April 17-18 at the Indiana Invitational in Bloomington before traveling to TPC River's Bend in Ohio the following week for the B1G Championships on April 22-25.
The NCAA Regionals are then set to begin May 10-12 with sites at LSU, Ohio State, Louisville, and Stanford with the NCAA Championships to be played at Grayhawk G.C. in Scottsdale, Arizona on May 21-26.
