UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Senior Alex Frack and junior Nick Mock were named Big Ten Gymnasts to Watch, as announced by the league on Wednesday. The Lions were picked to finish fourth in the Big Ten in a vote of the league's seven head coaches.
Frack was a CGA Regular Season All-America honoree last season after ranking fifth in the nation on high bar. The senior picked up right where he left off to begin this season, posting wins on high bar and parallel bars in the Lions' season-opening win over Army West Point.
Mock was also a CGA Regular Season All-American last year, earning the award with his work on pommel horse. He ranked fourth in the nation in the event. He scored 13.7 to pick up the event win in the meet against Army.
In the team poll, Penn State came in behind Michigan, Nebraska and Illinois, while finishing ahead of Ohio State, Minnesota, and Iowa. The Lions won the most recently competed Big Ten Championship in 2019.
Penn State returns to action with a home meet against Illinois on Sunday, Jan. 31, at 3 p.m.
