Dobson and Bothun Collect CHA Weekly Honors

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State women's hockey junior forward Amy Dobson and freshman goaltender Josie Bothun were named the CHA Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week respectively for their individual play last weekend.

Both Dobson and Bothun were integral in Penn State's 2-0 weekend against Mercyhurst. Dobson (Hamilton, Ontario) posted her first career multi-point game with an assist and the game-winning score in Saturday's 2-1 win while adding an assist Sunday in a 4-1 Penn State victory.

Dobson ranks tied for fourth in the CHA with seven points on four goals and three assists through the first 10 games of the season, already surpassing her five-point total in the entire 2019-20 season. The weekly conference honor is Dobson's first in her career.

Bothun (Wyoming, Minn.) continues her spectacular and consistent play in net for Penn State with two more wins last weekend to improve to 8-1-1 on the season. The freshman goaltender stopped 58-of-60 shots for the weekend, improving her season save percentage to .949 while sporting a conference-best and seventh-ranked 1.48 GAA nationally.

Bothun adds CHA Rookie of the Week to her season resume after winning CHA Goaltender of the Month and Goaltender of the Week back in early December.

Dobson, Bothun and the recently eight-ranked Nittany Lions head to Lindenwood this Friday and Saturday for another CHA matchup. Game times are at 8:10 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. ET.
