Women's Lacrosse February Schedule Update

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The No. 21/18 Penn State Women's Lacrosse team has announced details for its first two games of the season. 

Penn State's season-opening contest this Sunday, February 14, against Rutgers has been set for 1 p.m. in Holuba Hall. The Scarlet Knights went 5-4 during the 2020 season.

The Nittany Lions will take on No. 7/8 Maryland the following Sunday, February 21, at 1 p.m. That game is currently set to be played in Panzer Stadium. Maryland concluded its 2020 campaign ranked 11th in the IWLCA Poll with a 3-3 record. The Terrapins were tabbed 8th in the Inside Lacrosse Preseason Poll and 7th in the IWLCA Preseason Poll heading into the 2021 season.

Under current Big Ten guidelines, public tickets will not be sold for 2021 Penn State Women's Lacrosse home games.

Penn State, led by Head Coach Missy Doherty, is ranked No. 21 in the IWLCA Preseason Poll and No. 18 in the Inside Lacrosse Preseason Poll. The Nittany Lions started the 2020 campaign with a 5-2 record before the season was canceled on March 12 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The NIttany Lions return 26 members from the 2020 squad, including Inside Lacrosse preseason honorable mention All-American Taylor Suplee. Penn State also welcomed nine freshmen who made up Inside Lacrosse's top 2020 recruiting class in the nation.
