GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Penn State men's golf team will compete in its first tournament of 2021 at the Florida Gators Invitational Friday-Sunday, Feb. 12-14. The Nittany Lions are paired with Coastal Carolina and Missouri for both Friday and Saturday's rounds and tee off at 7:30 a.m. ET Friday.
The event moved to a three-day schedule this year with 18 holes played on each day on the par-70, 6,701-yard Mark Bostick Course on the University of Florida campus. The 21-team field includes Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Coastal Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Southern, Jacksonville, Liberty, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, UCF, UNF, USF, Vanderbilt, West Virginia and Washington.
Graduate students Alec Bard (New Hartford, New York) and Ryan Davis (Berkeley Heights, New Jersey), seniors Lukas Clark (Holland, Pennsylvania) and Lou Olsakovsky (Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania), and sophomore Jimmy Meyers (Wexford, Pennsylvania) will compete for Penn State this weekend.
Penn State tied for third place among 15 teams in the 2020 edition of the Gators Invitational. Davis was the high finisher for the Nittany Lions with a 68 on the final day and tied his career-low 54-hole tournament score of 207 (68-71-71, 3-under).
