Men's and Women's Diving Conclude Day 1 of Big Tens

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.  - The men's and women's diving teams completed their first day of the 2021 Big Ten Championships this afternoon at Purdue in the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center. 

Sophomore Kevin Sullivan led the Nittany Lions with a fifth-place finish in the 1-meter Consolation Finals. His score of 291.30 earned him 13th overall. 

Senior Bryce Hoch ended the day with a final score of 239.00 in the event. He was followed by juniors Jonah Cey and Logan Krabbe who earned 233.30 and 219.25, respectively. 

On the women's 3-meter,  junior Sierra Shurts highlighted the team with a 260.20, senior Kamryn Umbel's efforts were good for 244.05, and sophomores Wei Wei and Meredith Canova received 209.65 and 194.35 in the event, respectively.

Contest resumes tomorrow with the women's Platform and men's 3-meter prelims at 1:20 p.m. ET./ 12:20 p.m. CT. Event finals will begin at 7:35 p.m. ET/ 6:35 p.m. CT. The meet will be streamed on BTN+.
