UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa – Recent Penn State graduate Stephen Nedoroscik is set to compete at the prestigious Winter Cup this weekend. The Senior Men's Competition begins on Friday at 7:30 p.m., and the event finals will take place on Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
The 2021 edition of the Winter Cup is at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. Friday night's competition will air on NBCSN and stream on NBCSports.com.
The Winter Cup helps determine what gymnasts will be on the U.S. National Team. Nedoroscik has been a member of the U.S. Team for three years. He missed the Winter Cup last year while competing internationally but earned a spot on the team in large part to scoring a 15.4 while winning the title at the Melbourne Cup.
Nedoroscik, a pommel horse specialist, has been one of the top gymnasts in the country in the event. In addition to his title in Melbourne, the Worcester, Massachusetts native won gold at the 2019 Winter Cup and was the silver medalist at the 2019 U.S. Championships.
Nedoroscik established himself as one of Penn State's all-time greats by winning the Nissen-Emery Award as the nation's best senior gymnast following his final season with the Nittany Lions in 2020.
