A NOTE FOR FANS
Under current guidance, the general public, beyond student-athletes' families, will not be permitted for 2021 Penn State men's volleyball home games.
THE MATCHUP
Penn State is 45-3 all-time against the Red Flash, including winning six-straight matches by a combined 18-1 sets.
The Nittany Lions swept SFU 3-0 on the road last February in the lone match played between the two teams in 2020.
RECOGNIZED BY THE EIVA
Junior setter Cole Bogner and junior middle blocker Sam Marsh were chosen EIVA Offensive Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the week respectively for their performances last weekend against Ohio State.
Bogner had back-to-back 30-assist performances, including pacing Penn State's offense to a .481 hitting percentage last Friday, Jan. 29.
Marsh had five critical blocks in two matches against the Buckeyes and pitched in offensively with 11 kills at an efficient .714 rate.
WHERE THEY'RE RANKED
Penn State's serve-and-pass game continues to be a team strength as indicated by where the Nittany Lions rank nationally in various statistical categories.
Penn State is third-best in the nation with 2.17 aces per set, while their defense is ranked eighth allowing an opponent hitting percentage of just .208.
