UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State Women's Gymnastics sophomore Cassidy Rushlow was named Big Ten Co-Gymnast of the Week on Monday. She shared the award with Minnesota's Lexy Ramler after leading the No. 31 Nittany Lions to a 196.000-194.950 win over No. 28 Maryland on Friday.
Rushlow won the all-around title against the Terrapins, tying her career high with a 39.475. She topped the second-place finisher by .825. It was her fourth career all-around title and third of the 2021 season.
The Massachusetts native shared the bars title with fellow sophomore Bella Romagnano, earning a 9.850. The duo helped PSU to a season-high 49.125 on bars. Rushlow secured her second bars title of the season and the third of her career.
Rushlow notched a career-best 9.925 on beam, leading Penn State to a season-high 49.000. She collected her first beam title of the season and second of her career.
On floor, Rushlow won her first career event title, earning a career-high 9.875. She led the Nittany Lions to a 49.000 on floor.
Rushlow also scored a team-best 9.825 on vault.
The sophomore ranks 20th in the country on bars, according to RoadToNationals, with a 9.869 average. She also sits 33rd in all-around, averaging a 39.162.
The Nittany Lions, coached by Sarah Brown, return to Rec Hall on Saturday to take on No. 20 Illinois. The meet is set to begin at 4 p.m. with a live stream on Big Ten Network+.
