Nedoroscik Takes Second at Winter Cup

INDIANAPOLIS – Former Penn State men's gymnastics standout Stephen Nedorsocik finished second on pommel horse at the Winter Cup on Sunday. He is a three-year member of the U.S. National Team and will now wait to see if he earns a spot for a fourth year.

Nedoroscik easily had the best score of the event with a 15.6 in the finals. No other competitor eclipsed 15.0 on pommel horse, with the next best score coming from eventual champion Alec Yoder (14.85).

Unfortunately for Nedoroscik a fall in his first routine of the event proved costly, but even with that fall he was able to finish as the runner-up with the two scores averaged. He scored 13.45 on his first routine. Yoder scored 14.65 on his first routine.

The 15.6 is Nedoroscik's second-best score in his career. His best was a 15.9 in a meet against Air Force last season.

Nedoroscik missed the Winter Cup to compete internationally last season. He was the pommel horse champion in 2019.
