No. 12 Penn State Takes on Johns Hopkins Saturday on ESPNU

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – No. 12 Penn State men's lacrosse looks to build off the momentum from its recent win over nationally-ranked Ohio State when it travels to play Johns Hopkins on Saturday at noon.

Saturday's game will air live on ESPNU. Four of the Nittany Lions' seven remaining games on the regular season schedule have TV designations – three on ESPNU and one on BTN.

SERIES HISTORY
• Penn State trails 9-3 in the all-time series with Johns Hopkins, but are on a three-game winning streak against the Blue Jays.
• The teams first played in 1916.
• Four of the last five games in the series have been decided by two goals or less.

GAME 3 RECAP
• TJ Malone matched a career high with seven points on five goals and two assists to lead then-No. 14 Penn State to an exciting 15-13 win over then-No. 12 Ohio State at Panzer Stadium.
• Penn State went on a 4-0 early in the second half to go up 11-7, but Ohio State battled back to get within one twice in the fourth quarter.
• Mac O'Keefe scored following each of the two goals by Ohio State that made it a one-goal game in the fourth quarter. He put the Lions up 14-12 with 6:04 to play and finalized the scoring at 15-13 with 2:29 left on the clock.
• Dylan Foulds scored four goals in the win. He had a hat trick with 2:12 left to play in the opening quarter.
 
PENN STATE VS. BIG TEN
• Penn State is 55-102 (.350) all-time against current members of the Big Ten. The Lions are 24-17 (.585) against those same teams during head coach Jeff Tambroni's 11 seasons with the team.
• The Lions are 15-13 in Big Ten regular season games since the league added lacrosse in 2015. They have winning records in league play over Michigan, Ohio State and Rutgers.
 
KNEESE NEARING SAVES MILESTONE
•  Colby Kneese enters Saturday's game with 597 career saves, putting him just three away from 600.
• Kneese ranks third in program history in career saves. He needs 90 to pass Austin Kaut (2011-14) for third and 98 to pass Drew Adams (2006-09) for the record.

O'KEEFE NEARING NCAA GOALS RECORD
•  Mac O'Keefe needs 16 goals to become the NCAA's all-time career goals leader.
• The record is currently held by Duke's Justin Guterding, who scored 212 goals in 75 games from 2015-18.
• O'Keefe needs three goals to pass Max Quinzani (Duke, 2007-10) and Connor Fields (Albany, 2015-18) for third on the list.
• O'Keefe's 197 goals have come in 56 games.

O'KEEFE GOAL STREAK
•  Mac O'Keefe is second among active players with a 35-game goal-scoring streak.
• O'Keefe has 130 goals during that stretch.
• O'Keefe has the highest goal-scoring streak amongst players that played their entire career in Division I.
• The last game O'Keefe didn't score a goal was in a 9-7 loss to Cornell on March 10, 2018.

TAMBRONI CLOSING IN ON MILESTONE
• Jeff Tambroni, who is in his 21st season as a head coach, is 199-96.
• His .675 winning percentage ranks sixth among all active NCAA Division I coaches.
• Tambroni's 90 wins at Penn State are the second-most in program history.
• Tambroni's .616 winning percentage at Penn State is easily the best in program history. Glenn Thiel is second at .559.
• Tambroni has had just one losing season in his 20 completed seasons as head coach.
