UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State swimming's Marie Schobel completed her two NCAA races in the 100 and 200 backstroke at Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina on Friday and Saturday morning.
Schobel finished 22nd in the 100 back on Friday with a time of 52.66, which is her fastest individual 100 back time of her career and only .32 away from her personal best 400 medley relay split (52.34) from 2021 Big Ten Championships.
In the 200 back, Schobel finished 39th (1:56.17) with her second-fastest 200 back time of the season. Her personal best in the 200 back is 1:55.06 from last year's Big Ten Championships.
Schobel also qualified for the 2020 NCAA Championships as a sophomore but did not get to compete since the meet was canceled due to COVID-19.
