UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State's Michael Jaroh was named the Big Ten Men's Gymnastics Freshman of the Week on Tuesday for his performance in a Big Ten meet against Michigan this past weekend.
Jaroh placed in the top five in four events against the Wolverines, including a runner-up finish on vault with a career-best score of 14.6. He also scored a personal best on parallel bars, finishing fourth with a score of 13.95.
Jaroh added a fourth-place showing on high bar (13.4) and fifth on rings (13.5).
It is the second Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor for Jaroh this season. He also has one Big Ten Gymnast of the Week award.
Penn State wrapped up the regular season at 4-4 overall and 2-4 in the Big Ten. The Nittany Lions will compete at the Big Ten Championships in Lincoln. Nebraska on April 3, and at the NCAA Championships in Minneapolis, Minnesota on April 16-17.
