O'Keefe Named Big Ten Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State's Mac O'Keefe was named the Big Ten Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week after celebrating Senior Day with eight points on six goals and two assists in a 14-13 overtime win over Michigan on Friday at Panzer Stadium.

O'Keefe's second goal of the game was the 213th of his career, breaking the NCAA Division I record of 212 previously held by Duke's Justin Guterding. He went on to finish the game with 217 career goals and has at least two games remaining to add to his total.

O'Keefe's exciting Senior Day didn't end with the record. His fifth goal tied the game at 12-all early in the fourth quarter, while his sixth and final goal was the game-winner with three seconds left in overtime.

It is the second Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week award for O'Keefe this season and the fifth weekly award from the conference for Penn State overall this season.

Penn State closes the regular season with a game at Ohio State on Saturday at 4 p.m. on ESPNU. A win by the Lions would secure a home game in the Big Ten quarterfinal round, but a loss would not eliminate the possibility either. The Big Ten semifinal and final rounds will be held at Panzer Stadium.
