Gurenlian, Adams Make Eastern PA Chapter of US Lacrosse Hall of Fame

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Two former Penn State greats will soon be inducted into the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the US Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Greg Gurenlian '06 and Drew Adams '09 are set to be inducted during a reception at the United Sports Training Center in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, on September 18.

Gurenlian was an All-ECAC selection while at Penn State and helped the Lions earn trips to the NCAA Tournament in 2003 and 2005. He was the program's career record holder with 508 faceoff wins when he graduated in 2006. That number currently ranks third on the school's all-time list 15 years later.

Following his time at Penn State, Gurenlian was drafted by the Rochester Rattlers in Major League Lacrosse. He played 14 seasons in MLL and was named the MVP once, the Specialist of the Year three times, All-Pro six times, and an All-Star four times. He then played one season for the Redwoods in the newly formed Premier Lacrosse League

Gurenlian also played for Team USA, helping the team win the gold medal at the 2018 World Lacrosse Championships in Netanya, Israel.

Adams was a three-time All-American for the Nittany Lions and still holds the program's all-time record with 694 career saves. His 212 saves in 2009 rank fourth in program history and are the school's most in a season in the last 46 years.

Adams went on to play for the New York Lizards in Major League Lacrosse, where he was the league's Goalie of the Year three times and an All-Star four times. He was the Goalie of the Year and Gurenlian was the MVP in 2015 as the two led the Lizards to the league title. He is currently a member of the Archers in the Premier Lacrosse League.

At the international level, Adams won a silver medal with Team USA at the 2014 World Games.
