KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Penn State women's soccer coaching staff was honor as the North Regional Staff of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches announced Thursday.
Led by head coach Erica Dambach, the Penn State women's soccer staff led the Nittany Lions to the third round of the NCAA Tournament to for the fourth consecutive season and eighth time in the last 10 seasons. Dambach and staff led the program to the 20th Big Ten regular season title in program history, the 11th under Dambach.
Along with Penn State's Big Ten regular season title, the Nittany Lions staff led Penn State two a 12-3-1 record (.781) and a 9-1-1 record in the conference. Despite the COVID-19 shortened season, it marked the 27th straight year that Penn State has won double digit games.
The Nittany Lions led the Big Ten conference in nearly every offensive category. Penn State ranked second in the country as a team in assists (48), third in points (134) fourth in goals (43) and points per game (8.38) and sixth in scoring offense (2.69 goals per game).
The Penn State defense allowed just 14 goals this season and limited opposing offense to a 0.86 goals against average.
The Regional Staff of the Year recipients have been placed on the ballot for United Soccer Coaches National Staff of the Year consideration within their respective NCAA division.
