ROSEMONT, Ill. – Penn State softball student-athlete Kennedy Legg was named the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award recipient for Penn State, as announced by the conference office Wednesday. The student-athlete selected for this award has distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior, are in good academic standing, and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.
Legg, a redshirt senior utility player from Keller, Texas, totaled 60 hits in her collegiate career, playing her first year at Ole Miss before transferring to play with the Nittany Lions prior to the start of the 2018 season. She was named to the All-Tournament Teams at the Felsberg Invitational and Easton Bama Bash during the 2020 season. In her final season in 2021, she hit a tied career-high three home runs. Legg earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2019.
Legg just graduated with a degree in science and a minor in kinesiology at the beginning of May. She plans to take a gap year and then go to PT school.
