2019 Student Football Ticket Procedures

Operating procedures you should know

  • DO NOT CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT – a Student Account Manager account has been created for all current Penn State students.  The password for this account is randomly generated – it is not the same password as your PSU access account.  For your initial sign in attempt, you will need to click on “Forgot Your Password?”   After entering your email address, you will receive an email to update your password.
  • DIGITAL TICKETING – digital ticketing will be the delivery method for all student tickets.  To access your digital tickets, please download the Penn State Athletics App.  Students are also required to show their PSU student ID card before entering Beaver Stadium entry lanes.
  • NO SHARING OF PSU STUDENT ID CARD – sharing of Penn State student ID cards is prohibited.  Any student attempting to enter Beaver Stadium on gameday with a PSU Student ID card that is not theirs will be denied entry into the stadium.  The PSU Student ID card will also be confiscated and reported as fraudulent use of the card.
  • 1 STUDENT TICKET, PER GAME LIMIT – each student is permitted to have one ticket in the student section, per game.
  • Penn State students will have the opportunity to purchase discounted tickets outside of the student section, subject to availability, for 5 of the 7 home games throughout the 2019 season.  Due to very high ticket demand, and in an effort to provide Penn State students every opportunity to attend games, guest tickets in the student section will not be offered for the 2019 season.  CLICK HERE for more information on guest tickets.
  • Student ticket holders are able to transfer their student ticket to another active Penn State student, provided the ticket transfer recipient does not already have a student ticket for that game.  The Student Ticket Exchange will not be available for the 2019 season.  Student ticket activity from the 2018 season showed that 77% of secondary ticket transactions (student resale / transferring of tickets) were transfer offers, and not resale offers through the Student Ticket Exchange.

Transferring a student football ticket

  • Student ticket holders are able to transfer their student ticket to another active Penn State student, provided the ticket transfer recipient does not already have a student ticket for that game.  There is a one (1) student ticket limit, per game.  Students will not be able to accept a transfer offer if they already have a student ticket for that particular game.  Should a student have more than one student ticket in their account, the additional ticket will be voided and sent back to the original student.  Ticket transfer offers must be accepted no later than 4 hours prior to kickoff.  If the recipient declines the transfer offer or does not accept the offer prior to 4 hours before kickoff, the ticket will remain on the sender’s account.

Can I use a screenshot of my ticket to enter Beaver Stadium?

  • No, screenshots of digital tickets are not a valid form of entry and will not gain admission into Beaver Stadium on gameday.  Digital student tickets contain a dynamically changing encrypted barcode.

What if my phone battery dies on gameday?

  • Students will first need to show their PSU Student ID card to event staff, and then enter the entry lanes at Gate A to maintain their order in the ticket distribution process.  This allows students to sit with their friends, after it has been confirmed they have a valid ticket for the game.  Upon reaching the ticket scanners, students will be directed to the Resolution Booth at Gate A of Beaver Stadium.  Students will be required to show their PSU student ID card.  Once it has been confirmed the student has a valid ticket for the game, a ticket will be issued for an assigned section.

Will students be issued a physical paper ticket on gameday?

  • Yes, students will be issued a physical paper ticket for an assigned section, after they have successfully scanned their digital ticket.  Students will need to present their physical paper ticket to stadium event staff to gain access to the student section.  Lost student section tickets will not be replaced.

Do I already have a Student Account Manager?

  • If you are enrolled full time or part time for the 2019 Fall Semester, Penn State Athletics has created an account for you.  Your password is randomly generated and IS NOT the same as your Penn State Access account.  Click on “Forgot Your Password?” to update your password.

How do I unlock my account?

  • Please call a customer relations representative at 1-800-NITTANY, Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm.  The customer relations center is also available on gameday beginning at 7am for Noon kickoffs and 8am for all other kickoff times.
