Penn State women's hockey welcomes six newcomers to the 2021-22 roster as the Nittany Lions aim to defend their first-ever CHA regular season championship title. 

Head Coach Jeff Kampersal and the entire women's hockey program are happy to welcome the newest student-athletes to Hockey Valley. 

"After a well-deserved break in May, the Nittany Lions are all busy getting better, said Kampersal. "These six players will significantly add to our already motivated team."

Previous Team: Dallas Stars Elite U19 Tier 1

PRIOR TO PENN STATE
Named an alternate captain (2018-19) for Team Texas, the first-ever all-girls high school hockey team in Texas...Won 2018-19 USA hockey girls high school national championship...Rostered with Dallas Stars Elite club program at U14, U16, and U19 Tier 1 levels for six seasons...Named alternate captain for Dallas Stars Elite three times...Competed at the USA Hockey club national championships across all three divisions...Invited to USA Hockey National Development Camp in 2017...Attended USA Hockey Rocky Mountain District camp three years in a row (2017-19).

Full name is Erika Isabel Shrier…Parents are Christine and Bill Shirer…Has an identical twin sister, Audrey, who also plays for Penn State…Intends to major in forensic science…Born January 2, 2002 in Dallas, Texas.

I chose Penn State because students and athletes are provided support, preparation and connections so they can have success in and after college. Also, from the moment I stepped onto campus I felt comfortable, I'm so excited to be a part of the Nittany Lion hockey team and community!
