OMAHA, Neb. – Penn State rising senior Marie Schobel competed in Friday night's 100 back championship final at the U.S. Olympic Trials in the CHI Health Center and placed seventh (1:02.83). From Sea Girt, New Jersey, Schobel holds the second-fastest time in Penn State history in the 100 back and third-fastest time in the 200 back.
Schobel qualified for the A Final with a 1:02.69 time in her heat in Friday morning's prelims.
Rising sophomore Morgan Rinn (Oceanside, New York) competed in the 200 fly Friday morning (2:13.62), but did not advance to the evening sessions.
Additional action for Wave I includes Carly Hart (Canton, Ohio) competing in the 100 breaststroke prelims Sunday morning with rising sophomores Maddie Cooke (Phoenixville, Pennsylvania) and Cat Stanford (Oceanside, New York) both set for the 50 free prelims on Monday, June 7.
