Six Nittany Lions Named AHCA/Krampade Academic All-Americans

BOSTON, Mass. -- Six members of the Penn State women's hockey team were recognized as American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) as Krampade Division I All-American Scholars in the fifth year of the award's existence as announced earlier this week.

Rising seniors Cam Leonard and Anna Promersberger, rising juniors Julie Gough and Izzy Heminger, and rising sophomores Josie Bothun and Kiara Zanon were the Nittany Lions honored with the academic award for the 2020-21 season.

The award marks the third consecutive honor for Leonard and the first for Promersberger, Gough, Heminger, Bothun and Zanon.

Due to the effects of Covid-19, the AHCA adopted revised criteria for this year's honorees. To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained at least a 3.6 GPA for each semester, regardless of whether the school's hockey team was able to play this season or not.
