15 Nittany Lions Named WCGA Scholastic All-Americans

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) announced Wednesday that 15 members of the Penn State women's gymnastics team have been named WCGA Scholastic All-Americans for the 2020-21 academic year.

Honorees earned a grade point average of 3.5 or above. Penn State was also recognized as one of the 58 programs with a team GPA of 3.5 or higher. The Nittany Lions recorded a team GPA of 3.7375, with 88.24% of the team recording GPAs over 3.5. The percentage ranks second among Big Ten schools.

"Congratulations to the student-athletes, coaches, and support staff on a record-breaking year of academic success," Kerrie Turner, WCGA president, said. "The balance needed to be a successful student and athlete takes considerable planning and intentional effort, which was certainly heightened during pandemic conditions. I am thrilled to see women's gymnastics achieving incredibly high standards in the classroom during this challenging time."
