Softball Announces 2021 Fall Ball Schedule

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State softball team has announced its 2021 fall ball schedule, which includes eight games of home competition on five different dates at Nittany Lion Softball Park and Beard Field.

"I am very excited about our fall ball season, and we are looking forward to hosting all eight games at home on Beard Field," said second-year head coach Clarisa Crowell. "It will be nice to return to a sense of normalcy with having fans in the stands and having the opportunity to compete against quality non-conference opponents. I believe that competition in the fall is imperative as it will help our team prepare for our upcoming season. We are looking forward to a great year and I am excited for our fans to see Team 57 compete as one!"

The Nittany Lions start the fall season by hosting Pittsburgh-Johnstown on Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. for a 10-inning game. The Villanova Wildcats then come to town on Sunday, Sept. 26 for a doubleheader starting at noon.

The following week, Bucknell makes the quick trip to the west for a 10-inning game at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 28.

Saint Francis also makes the trip to Happy Valley on Sunday, Oct. 3 for another doubleheader starting at noon.

Penn State will wrap up its fall slate on Saturday, Oct. 9 when it welcomes Lock Haven and West Chester to Beard Field for a round-robin game day. The Nittany Lions will first play Lock Haven at 11 a.m. before taking on WCU at 4 p.m. The two visiting teams will match up against each other at 1:30 p.m.

Admission to all fall ball games at Beard Field is free.

Parking for all Penn State Athletics' non-football events will require a valid permit or payment of the applicable parking fee for campus lots.
