UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State women's basketball program has announced it full non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
The Lady Lions are scheduled to play 11 non-conference games during the upcoming 2021-22 campaign. Penn State opens its non-conference slate on November 9 against Long Island University in the Bryce Jordan Center for the first matchup between the two teams.
Two days later, the Lady Lions will host Rider on November 11 before hosting Delaware State on November 16. This will be the second matchup with Delaware State with the first coming in 1985.
The Lady Lions hit the road for their next five non-conference games, first going to Clemson on November 21.
Penn State will then play in the previously announced Gulf Coast Showcase November 26-28 in Estero, Florida. The Lady Lions are slated to open the three-day, eight-team tournament against St. John's on Friday, November 26 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
The November 26 matchup will be the first matchup in program history with the Red Storm.
Other programs participating in the Gulf Coast Showcase include 2020-21 NCAA Tournament participants UCLA, Iowa State and South Dakota State. Along with these tournament participants, UMass, Kent State and Charlotte round out the programs participating in the event.
The Big Ten/ACC Challenge follows on December 2 at Boston College. The Lady Lions are 2-1 all-time against the Eagles. Penn State and Boston College last met in 2016 with the Lady Lions winning 60-56.
The last time the Challenge was played in 2019, the Big Ten earned its first victory over the ACC by a 9-5 margin. The Lady Lions topped Pittsburgh, 78-73, in their matchup that season, improving to 3-1 in their last four B1G/ACC Challenge games.
Returning home, the Lady Lions will face Youngstown State on December 12. The final two non-conference games will be played on December 18 at Duquesne and December 22 vs. Towson.
Tip times and broadcast designations for non-conference games will be released at a later date.
Season ticket renewals are now avaialiable for the 2021-22 women's basketball season. Fans will have until Tuesday, October 5 to renew their season tickets for the upcoming season and renewals can be processed through the Penn State Athletics Account Manager, linked here.
Available season tickets range in price from $260 (courtside) to $120 (sideline) and $95 (baseline). The Recent Graduate program features two options, an $84 sideline package and $65 baseline option.
