ROSEMONT, Ill. – Redshirt junior goalkeeper Katherine Asman has been named the Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week announced by the conference on Tuesday.

The Roswell, Georgia native made a total 14 saves in the Nittany Lions last two wins. This included a career-high nine saves in No. 14 Penn State's win over No. 3 Virginia. Asman made five saves in her second shutout of the season in the Nittany Lions 1-0 win over NC State.

The nine saves against No. 3 Virginia helped lead Penn State to its first win over a top-three team since September 11, 2015 when the Nittany Lions topped No. 2 Stanford

The Goalkeeper of the Week honor is the second of Asman's career. Asman earned her first Goalkeeper of the Week honor on March 25 of last season.

Asman has started all seven goals in net for the Nittany Lions and careers a 6-1 record, a 0.92 goals against average and has made 30 saves this season.
