UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State women's gymnastics head coach Sarah Brown has announced the hiring of Lacey Rubin as the team's volunteer assistant coach.
"Lacey has been such a great addition to our staff," Brown said. "Since she began working for us in the summer, she jumped in with both feet and has already begun to make a major impact on our program. She was an outstanding gymnast at Eastern Michigan during my time there and I'm so happy to see her on the coaching side. I can't say enough good things about her personality, her commitment and her future in this sport!."
Rubin joins the Nittany Lions after spending time at New Image Gymnastics as a Level 10 coach and her alma mater Eastern Michigan as a volunteer graduate assistant. As a gymnast at Eastern Michigan, she helped lead the Eagles to two MAC Championships and claimed two individual conference titles on uneven bars. She was a two-time MAC All-Tournament honoree and a distinguished scholar athlete. During the 2016-17 season, Rubin and the Eagles were coached by Penn State head coach Sarah Brown.
Rubin received both a bachelor's and master's degree from EMU in social work.
