Women's Hockey Earns First National Top Ten Ranking

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pennsylvania – The Penn State women's hockey team received its first-ever national ranking Monday afternoon at number 10 in the weekly USCHO.com Division I women's hockey poll.

Penn State improved to 6-1-1, its best start in program history, this past weekend after two wins at Robert Morris, marking the first conference sweep of a visiting team at RMU since January 2013 (RIT).

The Nittany Lions have received votes in the USCHO.com poll for the last three polls before finally breaking through into the top ten this week.

Through eight games, Penn State leads the College Hockey America standings with 13 points, five points ahead of second-place Robert Morris.

Tenth-ranked Penn State will head to RIT for another road conference test Jan. 15-16.
