Penn State Nittany Lion Fencing Team Announces 2021-22 Schedule

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; – The Penn State Nittany Lion men's and women's fencing teams have announced their 2021-22 schedules. Adam Kaszubowski will serve as interim head coach this season. The team will compete twice at home this season with the Garret Penn State Open in November and home duals in January.  

The Nittany Lions will open their 2021-22 season at the Temple Open on Oct. 23-24 hosted by the Temple Owls in Philadelphia, Pa. Following this week, Penn State will head to the NAC Division 1/Cadet meet in St. Louis, Mo. 

In November, the Nittany Lions return home to host the Garret Penn State open in University Park, Pa. on the Oct. 6-7.  The following month, the team will be away at Sacred Heart on Dec. 5 battling NYU, Harvard, Princeton, Vassar, and NJIT. Additionally, from Dec. 9-12 the Nittany Lions will head to Olympic Trials for D1, Juniors, and Cadets in Columbus, Ohio. 

The team will ring in the new year with an NAC Division 1/Juniors meet in San Jose, Calif. from Jan. 7-10. On Jan. 16, Penn State welcomes Penn, Temple, North Carolina, Columbia, Haverford, Duke, and Yale to Happy Valley for the Home Duals meet. A week later, the team will travel to St. John's to compete with Columbia, Harvard, Notre-Dame, and Ohio State. Penn State will close out the month on Jan. 28-30, by attending the W.S. World Cup in Salt Lake City, Utah. 

The Nittany Lions will head to the University of North Carolina on Feb. 12-13 to compete with Duke, North Carolina, Brandeis, Air Force, Johns Hopkins, and Temple. The team will return to Salt Lake City, Utah, on Feb. 18-21 for the Junior Olympics. Penn State returns to Temple to close out the regular season on the Feb. 27 to battle the hosts, St. John's, Princeton, Penn, Johns Hopkins, and Stevens Tech. 

The post-season begins on Saturday March 12, 2022 with the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regionals (site TBA). The NCAA Championships will be held in South Bend, In. on Thursday through Sunday, March 24-27, 2022, at Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind.
